oct2005 -- Clearwater Lake campsite. I hiked until dark every night so I miss out on some of the sites with the camera. The distance marked in the trail guide is WRONG. Doing simple math it looks like it's 1.4 miles from the Clearwater-Mountain portage to the east end of Clearwater. I'd bet it's 2.4 miles. At 6pm in October, this can be costly. After some hard hiking I made it to the shoreline of Clearwater at a few minutes past seven, dark by all accounts. I never did see a trail to the campsite, which was a few hundred yards back to the west from where I first saw the Clearwater Lake shoreline.
